Vol. 28: Harrogate, Conference Centre 21 March 1986 (2 cdr): --> straight from the audience master tape which was recorded & supplied to me by a Tadream member. Nice sound quality which ranges between 7-8/10. Needless to say we desperately need a complete, un- doctored TDI vault recording this year, but since then you should try this one instead ;-) Minimal audience noise. Remastered by (Side Effects) Vol. 29: Nottingham, Royal Centre 29 October 1990 (2 cdr): --> music from the "Melrose" tour which is basically identical to the TT29 version. The recording sometimes has a bit of bass distortion which is similiar to the Bristol 90 gig (the "In den Gärten Pharaos" boot cd). The encores are quite different than TT29 London, namely 'Back of beyond', 'House of the rising sun' and 'Melrose'. Sound quality 7/10, normal audience noise. Remastered by 'Jabberwock' Vol. 30: Duesseldorf, Philipshalle 25 February 1978 (2 cdr): --> if you like the 1978 concerts I'd say go for it, if not run away as fast as you can ~lol~ The fast, sequenced parts are quite nice actually, but there are also some parts which sound very 'untogether' and lack focus. It seems that the microphone couldn't handle high frequencies very good which caused in a sometimes distorted recording, but overall it's of listenable sound quality (6/10) Normal to minimal audience noise. Remastered by (Side Effects). Vol. 31: Los Angeles, Wiltern Theatre 23 September 1988 (2 cdr): --> this is a truly magnificient audience recording which has a great atmosphere. Usually I'm not so keen about hearing some crazed-out fans screaming and yelling all of the time, but here it fits like a glove. Sound quality is also excellent, a solid 8/10 with a good fat bass sound. Everything is near perfect until the beginning of "Ghazal" (the last track of the main set), here the sound gets pretty distorted, and the encores were a total mess so I decided not to use them as it would have spoiled the overall clean sound. Remastered by Whoopy Snorp. Vol. 32: Québec, Hilton Convention Center 11 April 1977 (1 cdr): --> the sound quality is similar (and sometimes better) than the TL21 version of Milwaukee 29.3.1977. The music nicely fitted on 1 cdr with 79.52 minutes of improvisations from the 'Encore' tour. Average audience noises, sound quality ranges between 6 and 7/10. Remastered by (Side Effects) Vol. 33: Ventura, Ventura Theater 1 November 1992 (2 cdr): --> from the master tape, this is one of the best sounding recordings from the 220 Volt tour. If you know TT20 Detroit you know what to expect. As with Detroit the audience is noisy, but it's not distracting (at least not for me). Sound quality 8/10. Remastered by (Side Effects) Vol. 34: Frankfurt, Alte Oper 27 October 1982 (2 cdr): --> the entire concert from their 'Logos' performance (except for 'Dominion' which was not performed during the German leg of the tour). Sound quality 7/10, little audience noises. Vol. 35: Rome, Pallazzetto dello Sport 6 February 1981(1 cdr): --> from a low generation tape, this recording is missing the last few minutes of 'Thermal inversion' and the rest of the first set, most likely due to empty batteries of the tape recorder. Which is a shame, because IMHO this may be the best recording of the entire early 1981 concert tour, which has some mindblowing keyboard solos. During 'Thermal inversion' the tape speed gradually slows down by more than 3%, and it was quite fun to correct it 'on the fly'. Sound quality 7-8/10, remastered by Whoopy Snorp. Normal to loud audience noises. Vol. 36: Frankfurt, Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universitaet 19 June 1971 (1 cdr) -->this is actually the oldest TD audience recording which is known to exist. From a 3rd generation tape. Still the sound quality is a bit below average, maybe 5/10..but way better than what I (and most likely others) have had before. The music itself is quite bizarre, very experimental psychedelic rock and space music which is hard to describe, and which is not comparable to what other groups did at that time. Normal audience noise. Remastered by Whoopy Snorp. Vol. 37: Barcelona, Sala Bikini 25 April 2004 (2 cdr) --> I can't comment on this one yet, as I haven't heard the final version yet, but it should sound quite good. A very loud & energetic performance in a small club which I enjoyed very much. The music is for the most part similar to the London Astoria gig from 2003, but with even more emphasis on Dream Mixes 4. Vol. 38: Manchester, Hardrock 19 October 1975 (2 cdr) --> from a 1st generation audience recording. Another excellent jam from the Cathedral tour (although this venue must have looked a bit different ;-) The sound quality is not brilliant, but good enough to enjoy (somewhere between 5 and 6/10). Minimal audience noises, remastered by Tentbuckum and Whoopy Snorp. Vol. 39: Nantes, Palais de la Beaujoire 1 March 1978 (2 cdr) --> another stinker from 1978? Not quite, actually I like this one a lot. Nice improvisations! From a low gen. tape, the sound quality is certainly not as good as for example Hamburg 78, but still a good 6/10, and slightly better than TL5 Brussels 17.3.78. Remastered by Whoopy Snorp. Normal audience noise. Vol. 40: Mainz, Eltzer Hof 29 October 1976 (1 cdr) --> master tape copy recording. Sound quality is around 6/10. Musically I like this one a lot. Some themes are similiar to the Mannheim 31 October 1976 concert, but still it's 100% improvisation from the classic line-up and era. Remastered by Whoopy Snorp.
