Tangerine Dream - Music Hall, Cleveland - 2nd April 1977. Revised and updated edition, July 2019. This is an odd one and may come as a big surprise for most of you. The most common circulating version of the audience recording from this concert has a dull and distant sound quality - as featured on TL #85 - but some time ago I acquired a second source which is indeed taped at the same gig. At times it almost sounds like a soundboard recording with OAM (open air microphones) added to create a matrix mix, but my guess throughout the remastering process was it is a *very close* audience recording. But judge for yourself After the somewhat lacklustre opening night in Milwaukee, with the raving Detroit gig the next day and followed by the pretty solid night in Chicago, this is TD's fourth gig from the North American Tour during the Spring of 1977. The band was really inspired that night and although the gig featured six parts (featured on TL #85) this version unfortunately lasts just 80 minutes and misses the last two (short) encores. But anyway, the long versions of Cherokee Lane and Monolight really stand out IMHO. The improvisational third and fourth tracks show that the band was in good spirits and that a whole run of more excellent gigs (Washington, NYC and Montreal, a.o.) was followed. Note: I have mastered this recording as two long FLAC files - basically presenting both parts of the gig. The first two tracks combined, then an intermission and followed by the other two. Feel free to split these yourself So I hope you all enjoy this pretty understated 1977 gig. -> This remaster is archived in 16/44 FLAC format -> This remaster partly replaces TL #85 -> Artwork by Matthew will follow shortly -> enjoy listening! -> leave your comment below DO NOT SELL.
